BIRTH OF A DOODLE

A short film by Elisa Pontes - 2023

In Birth of a Doodle, Elisa Pontes traces the life of a hand-drawn character as it comes into being, shifting restlessly across radically different animation styles. When she invited me to create the audio for the film, I chose to follow that same restlessness: the score moves with the image, from blues to drone, treating each visual world as its own sonic territory. I also recorded and designed the voice performances, with Elisa Pontes, Laurianne Bézier, and myself in front of the microphone. Foley was crafted by Laurianne Bézier..
