JUJU

Juju was a duo with guitarist Riccardo Morandini, active from 2014 to 2018, named after the Wayne Shorter piece that gave shape to one of its many repertoires. Riccardo and I grew up as jazz musicians together: the duo took on different forms and different books over the years, and we crossed paths again and again in larger ensembles beyond it.

The video above captures an excerpt from a 2015 evening dedicated to the music of Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock: the track heard here is, fittingly, "Juju."
